Seven people were killed and 17 injured in a road accident in Nigeria's Ogun state, authorities said on Monday.
Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Adegoke Adetunji told Xinhua that the driver of a Toyota Hummer bus lost control of the vehicle which veered off its lane and jumped the median before crashing into another bus travelling in the opposite direction.
Nigeria records high fatality rates for road accidents mainly due to shoddy highways, poorly-maintained vehicles and violation of traffic rules by inept drivers.
