Spanish football club Sevilla brought an end to second-division club Mirandes' run in Copa del Rey competition, winning their quarter-final clash 5-0 on aggregate.
Sevilla won the second leg match here on Thursday 3-0. They earlier won the first leg 2-0, reports Efe.
Sevilla began their assault on the hosts' goal on Thursday from the outset and opened the scoring in the eighth minute, when midfielder Vicente Iborra converting a penalty kick. The referee ruled that Uruguayan midfielder Sebastian Cristoforo had been fouled in the area.
The visitors continued to press forward in search of more goals at Anduva stadium.
Vitolo had a couple of decent scoring chances shortly afterward, with Mirandes goalkeeper Raul intervening to snuff out one of the midfielder's opportunities. The home club struggled to get anything going offensively against Sevilla's well-organised defence.
Mirandes head coach Carlos Terrazas tried to spark a comeback by inserting three substitutes at the start of the second half, a move that jumpstarted his club's attacking game..
Instead, Sevilla got a second away goal in the 71st minute when striker Juan Munoz finished off an outstanding individual effort by Vitolo and a third when Coke headed in.
