Sevilla win but Madrid drop points in Champions League

Sevilla have all but booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Dinamo Zagreb which gives them 10 points from their opening four group matches.

Goals from Luciano Vietto, Sergio Escudero, Stephen N'Zonzi and Wissan Ben Yedder on Wednesday night gave Jorge Sampaoli's side their triumph against a rival which played for half of the game with a placer less, reports Xinhua.

Luciano Vietto followed his strike from the weekend with the goal which put Sevilla ahead.

The Argentinean only had a narrow angle to shoot from, but the power of his shot took it past Dynamo keeper Livakovic, who nonetheless was able to get a touch on the ball.

Sevilla were in control of the game and their job was made much easier just before the break when Dynamo defender Petar Stojanovic was shown a second yellow card and subsequently sent off.

Escudero netted Sevilla's second midway through the second half after exchanging passes with Vitolo and N'Zonzi and Ben Yedder sealed the win with further goals in the closing minutes.

In contrast to Sevilla, Real Madrid dropped two points away to Legia Warsaw in a 3-3 game played behind closed doors in Poland, despite taking a 2-0 lead thanks to an excellent Gareth Bale volley and a goal from Karim Benzama.

Odjidja-Ofoe gave the home side, who had lost their previous three games, hope, with an excellent goal on the short of halftime and the scores were level in the 58th minute when Radovic scored from outside the Madrid penalty area.

Madrid had conceded goals in their last 10 games and conceded a third six minutes from time when Thibaut Moulin scored Legia's third.

A major shock was on the cards, but Mateo Kovacic had time to level with a shot across the Polish keeper and Madrid nearly won it at the death when Lucas Vazquez hit the bar with virtually the last kick of the game.
