Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah spun a web around the West Indies to leave the hosts reeling at 264/9 in their second innings at stumps on day four of the second cricket Test here.

At stumps on Wednesday, tailenders Devendra Bishoo (16) and Shannon Gabriel (0) returned unbeaten, with the hosts having an overall lead of 183 runs heading into the final day.

Resuming the day at 40/1, middle order batsman Shai Hope raised the hopes, scoring a gritty 90 off 209 balls before Shah triggered the collapse to return with figures of 6/90.

Hope, whose Test average before this match was a miserable 15, fell short of a well-deserved century by 10 runs when he played a loose shot to Yasir to be caught at cover.

Hope's departure precipitated a collapse, with Vishaul Singh falling to the next ball, bowled by paceman Mohammad Abbas for 32.

Skipper Jason Holder also failed to provide any resistance, falling to Yasir in the next over before the leggie claimed two more scalps as the hosts lost six wickets for 26 runs.

Pakistan lead the three-Test series 1-0 and have a bright chance of clinching it on Thursday.

Brief Scores: West Indies 312, 264/9 (Shai Hope 90, Kraigg Brathwaite 43, Vishaul Singh 32, Yasir Shah 6/90) vs Pakistan 393.
