Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani Thursday urged teachers to share with students stories of their struggles to help them better prepare for the future.
Addressing a national executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party Teacher Cell at the party headquarters here on the eve of Teachers' Day, she thanked teachers for their service.
"You (teachers) have gained a lot of experience from the struggles in your lives. If you impart these lessons to the students, it will help them tremendously in succeeding in life," the minister said.
"I've come here to thank each and every teacher for their service," she added.
Irani said a teacher "never retires" in his/her life.
"As a minister and an MP, my tenure is fixed but a teacher never retires... a teacher is someone who brightens the life of others," she said.
