Singer George Shelley of Union J band has planned a date with Selena Gomez next month.
Shelley, 20, decided about it when he got a video message from Gomez asking him to plan a meeting soon. He was "gob-smacked" when he received the message.
"I will try to call Selena beforehand, so it's not too awkward when we meet. My perfect date would be to go the beach at night. We could have a little bonfire," mirror.co.uk quoted Shelley as saying.
Shelley was shocked to see a direct message from Gomez and did not believe it was actually her.
"Selena's one of those massive celebrities who doesn't even know you exist, so I was gob-smacked. I thought it was a look alike at first. I could feel my cheeks going red and the lads laughed at me," he said.
The duo plan to meet when Union J band, which was formed on "The X Factor", supports Gomez as she takes her European tour to Lisbon, Portugal, next month.
