Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia appeared before the Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) on Friday in a case of "illegal recruitment" at the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).
Just before entering the ACB office, Sisodia told reporters that "some people" are not able to digest the work being done by the Delhi government.
"We are doing our work and some people are not able to digest it. This is why the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and ACB have been told to go after us," Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister said.
Meanwhile, DCW chief Swati Maliwal said that ACB summons to Sisodia "reeks of political vendetta".
Soon after Sisodia reached the ACB office, Maliwal took to Twitter and said that Sisodia has no role in DCW appointments.
"ACB summoning @msisodia (Manish Sisodia) reeks of political vendetta. He has no role in DCW appointments. DCW was always autonomous," Maliwal tweeted.
She also accused ACB of not taking action on her complaint against former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Maliwal, also an accused in the alleged illegal recruitments case, has been twice questioned by the ACB earlier. An FIR was also registered against her.
"Sad. ACB pursuing false case against me, not taking action on my corruption complaint against Sheila Dikshit for past three weeks despite evidence," she tweeted.
Maliwal last month accused Sheila Dikshit, and former DCW chiefs Barkha Singh Shukla and Kiran Walia of indulging in massive corruption and had asked the ACB to "arrest and jail" them.
