Six percent DA hike for central government staff

The central government on Wednesday hiked the dearness allowance for its employees by six percent.

Making the announcement, union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the decision is in tune with the 6th Pay Commission recommendations.

The higher DA to employees will cost the exchequer an additional Rs.6,796.50 crore and Rs.799.24 crore more on account of relief for persioners from 2016-17.
