SJVN Limited, a joint venture of central government and Himachal Pradesh government, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Power regarding energy generation and concession agreement for Kholongchu hydro electric project in Bhutan, the company said on Wednesday.
"During the financial year 2016-17, SJVN Limited plans energy generation of 8,700 million units (under excellent parameters) with an expected revenue from operations of Rs 2,300 crore and profit before tax of Rs 1,050 crore from its 1500 megawatt (mw) Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, 412 mw Rampur Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh and 47.6 mw Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra," an official of SJVN limited said in a press statement.
He added that the MoU also includes targets for signing of concession agreement for Kholongchu hydro electric project in Bhutan.
"An MoU was signed between secretary (power) Pradeep Kumar Pujari and ASJVN Chief Managing Director (CMD) R.N. Misra on July 11," he said.
"SJVN has also signed MoUs with its subsidiaries namely SJVN Arun-III Power Development Company Private Limited (SAPDC) and SJVN Thermal Private Limited (STPL) incorporated for implementation of 900 MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project in Nepal and 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project in Bihar respectively on July -7, 2016."
He expressed hope that SJVN will strive hard to ensure compliance of the laid down parameters during the year 2016-17.
SJVN Limited is a joint venture between the central government and government of Himachal Pradesh was incorporated in the year 1988 and it is fast emerging company as a major power player in the country.
