Smart card distribution to be completed by May: TN CM

The Tamil Nadu government will complete distribution of smart cards replacing ration cards by May 2017, Chief Minister K. Palaniswami said on Saturday.

Kicking off the distribution of smart cards in Tiruvalllur district, Palaniswami said in two months' time it is planned to distribute smart cards for the entire state.

Palaniswami said till such time families can get their supplies with the existing ration cards.

He said on receipt of SMS people can collect the smart cards from their ration shops.
