With heavy snowfall in neighbouring Uttarakhand, the Met Office here said Saturday the winter chill might return in Uttar Pradesh for a brief period.
It has been snowing in Badrinath, Joshimath, Hemkunt Sahib, Auli of the hill state Uttarakhand for the last two days, and the weatherman said the temperatures here will drop in the coming days.
Met Office director J.P. Gupta said it might drizzle in some parts of eastern and central Uttar Pradesh during the weekend.
"There would be icy winds that would usher back the winter chill," he said.
The state has been experiencing warm and pleasant weather over the week, with both maximum and minimum temperatures climbing up a few notches.
