The son of a famous Chinese singer known for patriotic songs, and who is also dean of the music department of the People's Liberation Army Academy of Arts, has been charged in a gang-rape case.
A people's procuratorate in Beijing only gave the surname of the 17-year-old suspect as Li. He is the son of famous singer Li Shuangjiang, Xinhua reported.
Police said Li Shuangjiang's son is among five suspects who allegedly gang-raped a woman in a hotel after drinking in a bar in February.
Li Shuangjiang's son has also been embroiled in other controversies due to his alleged unruly behaviour.
The boy and another teenager attacked a couple who reportedly blocked the driveway at a residential community in Beijing two years ago. He was sent to a government correctional facility for one year.
