Sony PAL is set to undergo only a revamp as opposed to rumours that it will be taken off the air, a statement from the Hindi general entertainment channel said, adding this would happen soon.
The channel was launched last Sep 1 with a promise to resonate with the ethos of the traditional yet modern Indian woman.
"Sony PAL was launched five months ago subsequent to which the channel carried out extensive research. Basis the research channel is in the process of realigning its content strategy. Sony PAL has achieved extensive distribution as a pay channel and will continue to be an important asset for the MSM Network," read a press statement.
However, all the impending information about the makeover is yet to be announced.
Though the channel prepares to reposition itself, it has decided to pull plug of three shows -- "Singhasan Battisi", "Ek Rishta Aisa Bhi" and "Hamari Sister Didi".
According to a source, the shows will go off air Feb 13.
Earlier, "Tum Saath Ho Jab Apne", "Piya Basanti Re" and "Khushiyon Kii Gullak Aashi" were also axed by the channel.
The channel took up a lot of initiative to garner attention and grab eye-balls. It started two new campaigns -- 'Lakh lakh badhaiyaan' and 'Luka Chupi with Juhi' in December last year, in which channel's brand ambassador Juhi Chawla was also actively involved.
