The Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) has named Mauricio Soria as coach of the national football team for the 2014-2018 period.
FBF head Alberto Lozada Thursday said Soria, who up to now served as interim coach, was chosen to lead the team to the 2015 Copa America in Chile, and the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, reports Xinhua.
A pleased Soria told reporters, he would officially be team coach during Bolivia's Nov 18 friendly against Venezuela.
"I'm no longer going to head the team as interim coach, and all that's left is to sign the contract," said Soria, whose eight- member coaching team includes four trainers who work with him at Blooming, the Bolivian pro-club he is signed on to coach until the end of the year.
Soria is expected to call up 23 players for Bolivia's last friendly of the year.
