South Korea MERS cases rise to 175

The number of those quarantined declined from 3,833 on Monday to 2,805 on Tuesday

Three new cases of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus were reported in South Korea on Tuesday, taking the total to 175, officials said.

The toll has remained at 27, the health and welfare ministry said.

Four more patients were discharged from hospitals. The total number of those discharged increased to 54, Xinhua news agency reported.

The patient 14, called super spreader as he has infected nearly 80 people, was also discharged from a hospital.

The number of those quarantined declined from 3,833 on Monday to 2,805 on Tuesday.
