Mohammedan Sporting were held to a 1-1 draw by Southern Samity in a Calcutta Football League (CFL) premier division encounter here on Thursday.
Rana Gharami gave Mohammedan the lead to in the 23rd minute which was cancelled out four minutes later as Tauras Manneh equalised for Southern Samity.
Sporting are fourth on the league table with two wins from four games, while Samity are seventh with one win from five outings.
Gharami - later adjudged the man-of-the-match - broke the deadlock as he unleashed a lethal left-footer that beat Samity custodian Ashok Singh from about 35 yards.
Manneh then restored parity for his side, skipping past two defenders and lobbing the ball over the Sporting goalkeeper.
