Spain defender Dani Carvajal is doubtful for the 2018 football World Cup qualifier against Israel, as the Real Madrid star has been unable to train with his teammates on Wednesday morning due to a bout of flu.
Besides Carvajal's blow, national team coach Julen Lopetegui could lose goalkeeper Pepe Reina to muscle problems before travelling on to Gijon for the Israel tie on Friday, reports Efe.
Spain and Italy lead Group G of the qualifiers with 10 points each after four rounds with Israel holding third position with nine points.
The Spanish coach will be monitoring Carvajal's condition to decide who is going to take up the right-back task.
