Russias Spartak Moscow lost 1-3 to Spains Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Leagues round of 32 at Moscows Otkrytiye Arena stadium here.
Aritz Aduriz stroke twice for Athletic in the 22nd and 39th minutes, while Mikel Rico scored the third goal in the 45th minute on Thursday, reports Tass news agency.
Spartak's Luiz Adriano fired one back in the second half, in the 60th minute.
The two teams will face each other again in the second leg in Spain on February 22.
