Speeding tractor kills three in Uttar Pradesh

Three persons, including a couple, were killed on Wednesday when a speeding tractor ran over them as they were basking in the sun by the roadside in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district.

In a separate incident in Sonebhadra district, four people were injured when a tractor hit them while they were sitting beside a bonfire to ward off cold.

The former incident took place in Sosa village of Sitapur.

Over six people were injured of whom two are in serious condition. The deceased were identified as Mamta, 10, Lallu Ram, 60, and Rukana, 55. The tractor driver fled the scene, police said.

In a similar incident in Barwakhad area of Sonebhadra district, a speeding tractor ran over a group of men who were sitting around a bonfire. Four people were injured. They were rushed to the Kona community health centre where the condition of two was stated to be critical.
