A speeding truck crushed a scooter here Wednesday, crushing the driver and two of his three children on their way to school, police said.
Police said Mohan Singh was ferrying daughters Mansi (12) and Karuna (4) and son Prince (3) to the Rembo Public School.
As the family reached the highway from a service lane in Kavinagar area, the truck hit him from behind and crashed on the scooter.
Mohan Singh and his daughters were rushed to a government hospital where doctors declared them dead. The son is in critical condition in a private hospital.
Superintendent of Police G. Muniraj said the driver escaped from the spot while the cleaner was in hospital with multiple injuries.
