Kingston (Jamaica), April 10 (IANS/CMC) Jamaican sprint star Asafa Powell has been slapped with an 18-month ban for doping, the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission announced here Thursday.
Powell, a former world record holder in the 100 metres, tested positive for the stimulant oxilofrine at the National Senior Championships here last June, reports CMC.
JADCO's disciplinary panel said the 31-year-old had been "negligent" and had been "at fault.".
