Ajax and Tottenham Hotspur have started negotiations on the transfer of Danish international Christian Eriksen to London, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported Wednesday.
Ajax demand 15 million euros ($20 million) for the 21-year-old midfielder, who has a contract until the end of this season. According to De Telegraaf, the Spurs so far offered 8 million euros, but both parties are expected to reach a deal around 10 to 11 million euros.
If Tottenham have finalised the transfer of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, for 100 million euros, the London-based club are ready to spend part of their cash on Eriksen.
Eriksen moved from Danish side Odense BK to Ajax in 2008 and made his debut in 2010. So far he played 113 Dutch league matches for Ajax scoring 25 times.
