The second One-Day International (ODI) between Sri Lanka and Pakistan was Saturday moved up to Aug 26 and the venue shifted to Hambantota after heavy rainfall here left the Premadasa Stadium waterlogged.
It rained continuous for 48 hours making a recovery unlikely for the ground, as well as putting play in doubt on match day.
The match was scheduled to take place Wednesday but was brought forward by a day.
"Fans who have already purchased tickets for the second ODI can either attend the match in Hambantota on Tuesday, or receive a refund," an Sri Lanka Cricket official was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
This is not the first time that the a change of venue has been needed due to a waterlogged Premadasa.
In the ODI series against New Zealand in 2012, two matches had to be moved out due to the unplayable conditions at the Premadasa after heavy rains.
