Notwithstanding Kolkata Knight Riders' loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eight Indian Premier League(IPL) at the Eden Gardens here on Saturday, Bollywood superstar and KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan congratulated both teams for their good performance.
"Well played RCB & well played KKR. Congrats to the winning side....& we will meet again in Bangakore next. Missed being at Eden. Lov u KKR," posted SRK on Twitter.
RCB struggled through to a three-wicket win in their maiden IPL 2015 encounter against KKR courtesy Chris Gayle, who scored a blistering 96 from 56 deliveries.
SRK was unable to cheer the Knights at the Eden Gardens on Saturday due to a work commitment but took to Twitter to wish luck to the squad before the match started.
Sent in to bat, KKR put up a formidable total on the scoreboard 177/6, with skipper Gautam Gambhir top scoring with 58 ably supported by a 17-ball unbeaten 41 from West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell.
In reply, Gayle hammered the KKR bowling all around the park and helped his side reach the target with six balls to spare. He was ably supported by South African De Villiers who scored 28 of 13 deliveries.
