A student leader of a Meerut college has announced a reward of Rs.21,000 to anyone who cuts the tongue of AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi.
Dushyant Tomar, a former president of the students union in a Meerut college, on Tuesday burnt an effigy of Owaisi in that city, and offered the reward.
Tomar said he was angered by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader's statement in a Maharashtra rally that he will not say 'Bharat mata ki jai'.
"The statement of Owaisi is not only anti-India but shows that he is not at all a patriot," he said.
Tomar was president of the student union in 2014-15 and was made a member of the state executive of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, a Bharatiya Janata Party-affiliated student body.
He also demanded that Owaisi be stripped of his Lok Sabha membership.
A public interest litigation has been filed in Lucknow on Tuesday over Owaisi's statement.
