Surjewala gets charge of Congress communications department

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has appointed Randeep Surjewala head of the communications department in place of Ajay Maken, who has been made chief of the pasrty's Delhi unit.

A party release said on Thursday that Surjewala, who is a national spokesperson of the party, has been appointed in-charge of communications department till further orders.

The communications department handles the party's interactions with the media.
