'Suryaputra Karn' to take 10-year leap (TV Snippets)

Popular mythological show "Suryaputra Karn" will be taking a leap of 10 years in the upcoming weeks. Taking the reins from child actor Vishesh Bansal, newcomer Vasant Bhatt will be seen essaying the title role in the show post leap.

"This is my first show as a lead actor and I am thrilled to essay the character of Karn on television. It's a very interesting role and I consider myself lucky to have got the opportunity to play such a powerful part," Vasant said in a statement.

"I have been going through intense training for the role as I will start shooting soon. The cast boasts of some brilliant actors and I am looking forward to work and learn from each and every one of them," he added.

The show, which is aired on Sony Entertainment Television, is based on the life of Karn, the mythological character of Hindu epic "Mahabharata".

Aahana Kumra to play crime branch officer in 'Agent Raghav'

Actress Aahana Kumra, who made her TV debut as the on screen daughter of megastar Amitabh Bachchan in psychological thriller mini series "Yudh", will next be seen as Trisha in upcoming show "Agent Raghav".

Aahana was earlier a part of veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah's theatre group Motley and learnt her acting skills from him.

She will play the role of a Crime Branch Special Unit head in &TV's new crime fiction show.

"Trisha is a very powerful character. She is strong emotionally, mentally and physically. It's going to be challenging and gratifying to essay the role. I'm looking forward to the show and couldn't have thought of a better role after my debut on television," Aahana said in a statement.

Actor Sharad Kelkar will play the title role in "Agent Raghav", which will start on September 5 and will replace singing reality show "The Voice India".
