Aiming to revive and enhance interest in traditional Indian art forms, particularly among the younger generation, the 17th Swami Haridas-Tansen Sangeet-Nritya Mahotsava, presented by HCL Concerts and Bharatiya Sangeet Sadan began here on Thursday.
Organised at the Shankar Lal Hall, Modern School in the national capital from January 5-8, the event started with a performance by renowned vocalist Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, followed by a Sarod recital by Amaan Ali Bangash and culminating with a vocal recital by Pt. Chhannulal Mishra.
While Deshpande enthralled the audience with her raag 'Maru Bihag', Sarod player Amaan Ali Bangash enchanted the listeners with his music.
Renowned artists like Shubha Mudgal, Uma Sharma, Bickram Ghosh, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Tanmoy Bose and many other artists will also be performing.
