Swift roped in for 'The Giver'

Singer Taylor Swift's recent performance in Los Angeles has landed her a role in the film "The Giver", which stars Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges.

The film is currently being shot in South Africa.

Swift told ABC Radio that she was completely unaware that the film's makers were in the audience during her performance, reports contactmusic.com.

"Actually, the movie came about very unexpectedly. When I played my shows in Los Angeles, I was unaware that people from this movie were in the audience, and I had a role offered to me the next week," she said.

"I think my show tends to be very emotional and moody and they saw something that they needed in the role. So, I'm very honoured and lucky to get to be a part of it, and we'll see how it goes," she added.
