South Korea's Kim Yu-Jin and and Kim Tae-Hunwon won two gold medals in the 2013 World Taekwondo Championships here, consolidating their country's lead in the medals table.
Kim Yu-Jin beat Croatia's Ana Zaninovic 5-4 to win the women's 53kg class Thursday, reports Xinhua.
In the men's 54kg category, Kim Tae-Hun defeated Hsu Chia-Lin of Chinese Taipei with a comfortable 7-0 win and won the fourth gold for South Korea.
Hsu told Xinhua that he has performed at his best level during the championships.
"Of course I wanted to have a gold medal in the final, but unfortunately I didn't make it," he said, admitting that the disadvantage of his height may lead to the failure.
Russia's Olga Ivanova clinched the women's 73 kg title after beating Mexico's Acosta Briseis with a solid 8-3, bringing the first gold medal to her country at the tournament.
South Korea retained the top position in the medals table with four golds, one silver and one bronze. Russia come second with one gold and two silvers, while Mexico rank third with a medal of each colour.
The 2013 World Taekwondo Championships opened last Sunday night at the exhibition center in Puebla, with the participation of 872 athletes from 134 countries and regions.
