Imtiaz Ali's latest entertainer "Tamasha", featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, has earned Rs.24.04 crore in two days of its release.
According to a statement by the film's makers, the opening day collection of the movie amounted to Rs.10.87 crore while it collected Rs.13.17 crore on day two -- taking the two-day business to Rs.24.04 crore.
Talking of overseas business, the estimated overseas gross box office collection figure till Saturday night was $2.8 million.
Presented by UTV Motion pictures and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, "Tamasha" is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film released on Friday.
"Tamasha" narrates a story of internal conflict. It is about two individuals, who meet while on a holiday and decide to make-pretend during the trip, but problems erupt when they return to their real life.
Largely, the movie is the love saga of a storyteller who falls in love with a girl who helps him to rediscover his lost self.
For Ranbir, the success of the film comes as a respite after three successive failures, while Deepika is now prepping up for next big release "Bajirao Mastani".
