A contractors' association in Tamil Nadu, which carries out work for the state Public Works Department (PWD), on Saturday released a list of names of 10 engineers and accused them of corruption.
An official of the Tamil Nadu PWD Engineering Contractors Association, told reporters that this was only the first such list and more names would be announced soon.
The official said a complaint has been lodged with the state government's anti-corruption bureau about the officials.
The association had earlier complained that the contractors were forced to pay up to 41 percent of the contract value as bribe to officials at different levels and four percent goes towards taxes.
The association said it was difficult to execute work with the remaining 55 percent.
