Actress Vahbbiz Dorabjee says her "Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani" co-star Tanvi Thakkar helped her to bag the role of Maggie in popular TV show "Bahu Humari Rajni_kant".

The two actors have remained friends for the last six years, and Tanvi, who plays the role of Sharmila in "Bahu Humari Rajni_kant", thought Vahbbiz would be a perfect choice for Maggie's role.

"Our friendship started from 'Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani' and from there we have been in constant touch. Tanvi is like family to me now. The beautiful part about this relationship is that we are from the same profession," Vahbbiz said in a statement.

"When Maggie was supposed to be replaced, Tanvi was the one who recommended me for the role and pushed me to go ahead and audition for the same. Tanvi somewhere had a vision that I would be the best one to fit this role and will give complete justice to the character. So I feel proud to have such friends," she added.

"Bahu Humari Rajni_kant" is aired on Life OK.

Angad Hasija in 'cheap' avatar on TV show

Angad Hasija, who is currently seen as Chander in "Waaris", says his character in the TV show is "cheap and ill-mannered".

"The character of Chander that I am playing is very different from the earlier ones. Also, my mother is a regular viewer of 'Waaris'. The character I play is drastically different from how I am in real life," Angad, best known for his roles in shows like "Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai" and "Ram Milaayi Jodi", said in a statement.

"The shade of character is negative, but to top it all, he is cheap and ill-mannered too. I had to do a lot of preparations for this character... To learn the body language, pick up the slang of Chander. It was difficult, but as an actor, the character helps me to show my prowess," he added.

"Waaris", which is based on cultural issues and shows a mother bringing up a girl child as a boy, also features Aarti Singh and Sania Touqueer among others. The show is aired on &TV.
