Taste of northeast India now just a click away

Fashion, food and artifacts from Northeast India aren't that far anymore. In a bid to bring the region closer to you, an online platform called giskaa.com has been launched where you can buy products from all the eight states - Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.

The website - www.giskaa.com - launched on Wednesday, is an online marketplace for products sourced from the northeast. It is also a platform for artisans from the region to professionally showcase their products and promote them among a large mainstream Indian audiences.

A majority of the products are handmade and eco-friendly items related to fashion, home decor and office accessories. The online marketplace also includes a range of ethnic food and beverage items from the region including pickles, dry vegetables, herbs and spices.

"It gives me immense pleasure to announce the launch of www.giskaa.com, through which the audience of the larger Indian diaspora will be able to connect and apprehend the rich and varied cultural and traditional heritage the northeast has to offer," co-founder and CEO of GISKAA, Meghanath Singh, said in a statement.

The products are available at an affordable price tag.
