Around 10 to 12 persons have suffered minor injuries in a parking lot explosion near the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) in the Turkish resort city of Antalya, the city's mayor said on Tuesday.

"Ten to 12 people lightly injured by broken glass, their life is not threatened. Police are determining the cause of the explosion," Sputnik news cited Mayor Menderes Turel as saying to a local media broadcaster.

Police teams and ambulances were sent to the scene where a car bomb was alleged to have detonated at 05.50 GMT, according to local media, which did not specify the casualty numbers.

An event was scheduled to be held at the ATSO with Turel later in the day, which the mayor confirmed. He also added that the event would be held as planned.

Turel said the explosion took place in a scarcely populated area outside the city centre, observing that "this does not look like a terrorist attack, but all options are under consideration".
