At least 10 people, including women and children, were killed after a landslide hit West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh on Friday morning.
Police said five bodies were recovered and a search was on for the other bodies.
"There have been torrential rains for two days which seems to have triggered the landslide. The victims were residing below a small hillock, which caved in, burying the 10 people," said a district official.
Arunachal Pradesh Governor J.P. Rajkhowa announced ex gratia of Rs 1 lakh to the kin of each victim.
