Belo Horizonte (Brazil), June 28 (IANS/EFE) Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuaín said that the whole Argentine population is backing their team for the World Cup dream, hoping that the players can bring joy to the people.
"World Cup is played every four years. There is a country behind this dream and hopefully we can give joy to our people and this would be the Cup," Higuaín said, reports EFE.
Nicknamed El Pipita, he said that he has recovered from his ankle strain and feels ready to play in the Round of 16 clash against Switzerland July 1.
About the Swiss team, the Argentine said that this World Cup witnessed many surprises, adding "we must be cautious. Switzerland will seek to continue their campaign. We must maintain respect for the opponent."
