Thousands of fans of megastar Chiranjeevi turned up at the pre-release function of his 150th movie here Saturday night.
Telugu action-drama "Khaidi No 150", which will hit the screens worldwide on January 11, is the comeback movie of Chiranjeevi after a gap of nearly 10 years.
Chiranjeevi said 10 years from "Shankar Dada Zindabad" to "Khaidi No 150" have passed like 10 seconds. He said it was the love and affection of fans which kept him going.
Produced by Chiranjeevi's actor son Ram Charan, the much-awaited movie has been directed by V.V. Vinayak. The film is the official remake of Tamil blockbuster "Kaththi".The megastar described Vinayak as his third brother.
A minor stampede broke out when the fans vied with each other to catch glimpse of the actor-politician. Fifteen people were injured in the incident.
Police had a tough time in controlling the massive crowd, which tried to surge towards the dais.
Besides Ram Charan, Chiranjeevi's brother Naga Babu, brother-in-law Allu Arvind, actor Allu Arjun and other family members were present.
However, Chiranjeevi's younger brother and popular actor Pawan Kalyan stayed away. There were loud cheers when Chiranjeevi took Pawan's name.
Pawan Kalyan, who floated Jana Sena political party in 2014, has difference with Chiranjeevi, who is a leader of Congress party.
Chiranjeevi had entered politics in 2008 elections by launching Praja Rajyam Party. However, the party's dismal performance in 2009 elections forced him to merge it with Congress.
