At least three persons were beheaded and several houses torched by suspected Somali Islamist Al-Shabaab militants in Kenya's coastal region of Lamu.
Kenyan Coast Regional Police Commander Larry Kieng, confirming the attack at Maleli, on Friday said that security officers were pursuing the attackers, Xinhua news agency reported.
"We have launched investigation into the attack by suspected Al-Shabaab militants, who also torched several houses," Kieng said.
Several areas in northeastern Kenya that borders Somalia have been targeted by Al-Shabaab terrorists who have been killing innocent citizens since Kenyan soldiers entered Somalia in 2011 to secure the two countries' shared border.
