Three members of Rajesh Bawania and Pradeep Solanki gang have been arrested in connection with a shootout incident here, police said on Friday.

The accused Sunil Kumar, 32, Roshan, 30, and Hardeep Dagar, 24, are residents of Najafgarh area.

They created ruckus at Surya Builders office after threatening and firing indiscriminately to instil fear among local builders and businessmen at Uttam Nagar in west Delhi.

"They were arrested on Thursday night from Anaj Mandi in Najafgarh and other surrounding areas after separates police raids," Deputy Commissioner of police (DCP) Surender Kumar said.

"Sunil was initially a member of Rajesh Bawania and Pradeep Solanki's gang, but after their arrest, he took over the command. Bawania and Solanki continued to direct the gang's activities from the jail," Kumar said.

During interrogation, Sunil told police that he had planned to extort huge money by instilling fear among the local builders and businessmen of the area.

He had attempted to grab a plot at Mohan Garden in Uttam Nagar valued at crores from Rakesh, owner of Surya Builders, the DCP said.

"Sunil revealed that he, along with his other associates, fired at Rakesh's office to create fear, so that he leaves the plot. Pradeep Solanki also made threatening calls to Rakesh from Bhondsi Jail in Gurugram," Kumar said.
