Three people were killed on Saturday in a mudslide in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, police said.

The three deceased in the incident at Dardpora (Lolab) forest area were identified as Muhammad Altaf, Ghulam Muhammad Lone and Bashir Ahmad Ganie.

Although an avalanche warning had been issued by the state Disaster Management authorities asking people not to move in higher reaches of Kupwara district, sources said these three locals had gone into the forest area for hunting.
