Hong Kong has selected sports action drama "To The Fore" as its contender for the Best Foreign Language Film category in the upcoming 88th Academy Awards.
The selection was made and announced by the Federation of Motion Film Producers of Hong Kong, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
Directed by Dante Lam, the sports drama stars Eddy Peng, Choi Si-won and Shawn Dou as a team of cyclers whose team spirit gets put to the test by their competitiveness and pursuit of personal glory.
However, no Hong Kong film has ever won in the foreign-language category.
"To the Fore" was chosen out of a shortlist that also included director Ringo Lam's "Wild City", Mabel Cheung's "Tale of Three Cities" and Lau Ho-leung's "Two Thumbs Up".
