Arezzo (Italy), June 8 (IANS/AKI) An 18-month-old girl went into cardiac arrest and died near the central Italian city of Arezzo on Wednesday after her mother left her in a car for several hours while she was at work, reports said.
The tragedy happened in the town of Castelfranco di Sopra after the child's mother left her strapped in her car seat in temperatures close to 30 degrees Celsius and later returned to the vehicle and found her unresponsive.
Paramedics used a defibrillator on the toddler but were unable to revive her, according to local media reports.
The woman told police investigators she had forgotten her baby daughter was inside the car, the reports said.
