Toddler drowns in tub in Delhi

In a tragic incident, a one-year-old girl died Sunday after falling from her cot into a tub full of water in her home, police said. The mother, however, alleged foul play.

Tabssum was spotted in the water tub at their home at Mehrauli area in south Delhi Sunday morning by her mother Tarannum, who immediately raised the alarm. The infant was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her dead.

Tarannum alleged foul play, saying she suspected that her daughter was drowned by some family members.

Police said it seemed that the toddler was sleeping on the bed when she accidentally fell into the tub kept beside the cot but they were investigating every angle.
