Angel Reyna's solitary goal helped Toluca beat reigning Mexican football champions Tigres and increase their lead at the top of the table in the Clausura tournament of the Liga MX.

Reyna's right-footed shot from outside the box found the net to seal Sunday's game for Toluca, who now have 30 points from nine wins, three draws and two defeats, reports Efe.

Toulca are now one point ahead of the second-placed Santos Laguna, with three matches left to play in the season.

Tigres, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Necaxa on Saturday, are tied at the third spot with Club America with 25 points.
