English football club Tottenham Hotspur's head coach Mauricio Pochettino praised his side for their 2-1 win over Manchester City in the English Premier League but added that "it is too early to speak about the title".

Tottenham sealed the match on Sunday with Christian Eriksen's 83rd minute winner which helped them remain second on the points table (51 pointa from 26 matches, two behind leaders Leicester). Third placed Arsenal also have 51 points but are a place below due to inferior goal difference.

"Our players deserve full credit for the performance - like always you need to keep working hard and keep improving every day and I think we are in a good position, but it is too early to speak about the title," he was quoted as saying on the Premier League website after the match on Sunday.

Pochettino also said that a win away from home against title rivals must have boosted his side's confidence.

"It was a big test and it's important to show we can (do it) ourselves," he said.

"We are still the youngest squad in the Premier League and it's important for them to gain experience of winning this type of game, to start to feel that when you come to play in a stadium like this and against a big team like Manchester City that you can win - but we need to show calm."
