A massive earthquake jolted various cities of Uttar Pradesh at around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
According to initial reports, strong tremors were felt in Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Amroha, Gorakhpur, Ballia, Unnao, Kannauj, Kanpur and Etah of the state.
Police said the people have been advised to stay in the open. So far no major damage has been reported.
Tremors were also felt at Haridwar and Rishikesh in the hill state of Uttarakhand.
A second tremor was also felt at around 12:19 pm.
