Two children have been killed and 11 people are missing in the cloudbursts that hit the Baltal area, which houses a base camp for the annual Amarnath pilgrimage in Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Saturday.
"Two children aged 11 and 13 were killed by a cloudburst that hit the area near the Amarnath Yatra base camp late last night," a police officer here told IANS.
He said the children worked at shops near base camp.
Ten people were injured in the cloudbursts. One of them with serious injuries has been shifted to a Srinagar hospital.
"Eleven people are still missing and we are taking a headcount at the camp to find out the exact details," he added.
Multiple cloudbursts had killed three people on July 16 in Kulan village on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway, the route used by the pilgrims to the Baltal base camp.
