Two criminals, hailing from Rajasthan, were arrested here after a gun battle on Thursday, police said.
Nura and his accomplice were arrested by the police Crime Branch after the gunfight in Golf Course Extension area near Sector 55-56. Police said another accomplice managed to flee.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Taiyub Hussain received a gun shot and was admitted to the civil hospital.
The three people, in their early 20 and hailing from Bharatpur in Rajasthan, were involved in over dozen cases of chain-snatching, theft and robbery.
The gun battle began when police tried to stop a bike, but the riders opened fire at the police team, which retaliated.
