Two foreigners were arrested here Sunday by the police in two separate narcotics raids which netted drugs worth nearly Rs.25 lakh.
British national Allan Bainbridge, 48, was arrested by the anti-narcotics cell (ANC) from Anjuna, a popular narco-tourism hub in Goa with possession of contraband drugs ecsctacy and LSD worth Rs.21 lakh.
A police spokesperson said that Bainbridge had been arrested in the past for possession of hashish.
In another raid, ANC sleuths arrested a Nigerian national, identified as Cahucks Egbo, 37, for possession of LSD worth Rs.3.35 lakh at Parra, a village adjoining Anjuna, located 20 km from Panaji.
Earlier this week, police had seized LSD worth Rs.55 lakh in a raid at another home in Anjuna.
The raids come a couple of weeks after the state's Director General of Police T.N. Mohan claimed there was no "drug mafia" operating in Goa.
